PPMC involvement in SuM4All

Launched in January 2017 by the World Bank, the Sustainable Mobility for All initiative is a worldwide consortium of over 50 leading organizations and agencies in the transport sector –among them PPMC- committed to collectively implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), hence promoting a cross-cutting vision of mobility as: Accessible, Efficient, Safe and Green.

The Global Roadmap of Action towards sustainable mobility (GRA) is a multi-stakeholders effort in developing a menu of policy actions to achieve sustainable mobility, tailored to countries circumstances and challenges.

Building on the Global Macro Roadmap for Transport Decarbonization issued at COP 22/23, PPMC has been requested to lead over the last 18 months the work stream with respect to “Green” mobility. PPMC presented the “Green chapter” of the GRA at the 7th consortium meeting held by SuM4All during the International Transport Forum 2019 in late May (picture below).

In early June, PPMC participated in the workshop dedicated to the GRA and organized by SuM4All at the 2019 Movin’On Summit in Montreal (picture below).

The final version of the GRA will be officially issued in September under the aegis of the World Bank. Consortium members are committed to “operationalize” the GRA with a dedicated online decision making this tool available for countries and cities during fall 2019.
