Germany’s Climate Action Plan

Decarbonization ChampionThe Decarbonization Champion Germany is a trail blazing country with ambitions to achieve a carbon-free future. Germany was among the first countries to submit a long-term climate plan to the UNFCCC.

Their plan covers agriculture and land use, energy, buildings, transport and industry, trade, commerce and services.

For the transport sector, the German Climate Action Plan 2050 suggests to conceptualize climate actions for road traffic, promote electric vehicles through incentives, induce a modal shift to environmentally friendly modes, develop concepts for rail traffic, walking and cycling, aviation as well as shipping and to use modern technologies. Specific measures will be developed in dialogue with civil society.
