ADP 2-9 Session Bonn, Germany 1-11 June 2015

During session 2-9 of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP) the focus was to achieve (a) a more streamlined and manageable negotiating text, and (b) outline a draft accompanying decision, including items to be considered during the interim period, pending the entry into force of the agreement.

Transport was featured in a breakout session as part of a technical expert meeting (TEM) focusing on opportunities to accelerate energy efficiency action in urban environments. The meeting helped Parties to advance implementation of good practice policies and technologies, involve UNFCCC institutions and leading international organizations, and engage with a broad range of stakeholders.

The Bridging the Gap (BtG) Initiative and the SLoCaT Partnership co-organized a side event entitled “Transport Tackles Climate Change”. The event discussed the preparation and implementation of transport components within INDCs, with a particular focus on how sustainable transport infrastructure and services can be scaled up and accelerated in order to tap the full mitigation potential of this sector.

SLoCaT and BtG have produced a report that reviews the negotiations in full, please download it here.
